Nvidia broadcast green screen11/6/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() With more polish, I think this tech could really help streamers achieve the look of a high-end stream without dropping hundreds – if not thousands – on high-end gear.īuy the Logitech C920 Now From Amazon. Providing streamers and video content creators with free software-based solutions for noise removal, background removal, and background blur is awesome! It all works to varying degrees of success, but there’s probably an effect or two that could be beneficial to your setup right now. NVIDIA Broadcast is an interesting suite of software with a lot of potential. Some may have good uses for it, but it won’t be one I turn on again. The effect is neat, though it doesn’t seem all that practical for most streamers, considering the fact that most of us are just sitting in a chair. AI-powered virtual background enables streamers to remove or replace their backgrounds without the need for a physical green screen. Though it technically kept my face in the middle as best it could, the camera movement felt a bit too jerky for me. OBS Bliss OBS 28.0 has launched with a host of updates and improvements including two NVIDIA Broadcast features exclusive to GeForce RTX streamers. With this on, the camera will keep your face centered, even as you move your head around. If you don’t suffer the same fate as me or are willing to drop the resolution on your camera, you should have a much better experience. Maybe it’ll stabilize on higher resolutions once it’s out of beta. Considering the fact that I’m running off of a brand new 3060Ti and this software was made to support the last generation of cards, I wouldn’t blame the hardware here. All of the effects triggered flickering in my camera at resolutions higher than 720p. This suite of tools is listed as still being in beta and I think it shows. Your camera also gets a power-up through NVIDIA Broadcast Engine. If that isn’t a concern for you, then it’s a much easier tool to incorporate into your setup. With seemingly no easy way to make exceptions for certain sounds, this limitation is going to be too much for me. This is a much bigger deal-breaker for me than any of the potential distortion it adds to my voice. By Matthew Connatser JListen to article Streaming on Twitch has been a hobby of mine for a while, and it’s probably the single most important thing convincing me to stick with my RTX. If you want to give yourself a round of applause for a hard-earned victory, the clap will be muted. The more glaring issue with it for me is the fact that there’s no way to make exceptions for noises other than your voice. For most cases, it shouldn’t be that bad and is worth the trade. Depending on the severity of the sound, it can sound like you’ve got bad reception on your phone at its worst. Any time the filter kicks in, your voice will deteriorate. ![]() It’s inevitable that the sounds being removed share at least some of the same frequencies as your voice. In certain cases, this is going to be a great way to minimize certain environmental noises that are hard to control otherwise. The sound of air conditioning or a fan is removed with little impact to the voice quality. That should speed up frame rates and image quality for games while streaming, the company said.If you’re not listening too closely, the effect can be pretty remarkable. NVIDIA also revealed that its NVIDIA RTX Encoder, introduced earlier, will work on Twitch Studio, Discord Go-Live chat and to Elgato 4K60 Pro Mk II HEVC devices. The RTX AR SDK could also be pretty cool, but the RTX Style features look a bit cheesy.Īll of the features are available via SDK, so it could take awhile for them to show up in apps, but NVIDIA said that Streamlabs and XSplit are working on implementations, too. Decent subject lighting is probably a must for best results, though. Finally, there's an SDK called RTX Style Filters, which can transform your webcam feed to look like anime or whatever style of art or image you prefer.įrom what NVIDIA showed off in a Twitchcon sizzle reel, the RTX Greenscreen effect is pretty effective, even if you have a relatively cluttered background. You could also overlay 3D content like a mesh or tracking dots onto your face. It can then overlay your expressions and speaking onto a 3D character, à la Apple's memoji feature. other than the anaglyphic (red & green glasses) films which do not require specialty TVs. The RTX AR SDK, meanwhile, can detect your face from a webcam and track features like your eyes and mouth. A third dimensional axis will allow for more 'screen space'. ![]()
